Cloud-Native Broadcast Platform for a Leading Egyptian Radio and Media Company
Modernizing live contribution, broadcast processing, secure channel origination, server-side ad insertion, and scalable VOD fulfillment on AWS
CloudMates modernized the live broadcast and digital delivery platform for a leading Egyptian radio and media broadcaster on AWS, enabling resilient multi-stream live contribution, redundant processing, secure channel origination, DRM-protected packaging, server-side ad insertion, CDN handoff, and scalable non-linear VOD fulfillment.
Streamlining Video Analysis for Modern Workflows

CloudMates designed and implemented a production-grade broadcast and digital distribution platform on AWS for a leading Egyptian radio and media broadcaster. The solution modernized the customer’s legacy live streaming environment into a resilient, scalable, and secure cloud-native architecture capable of supporting always-on live radio and video services, protected playback, monetized delivery, and non-linear content fulfillment.
The platform uses redundant on-premises contribution encoders delivering SRT feeds into AWS Elemental MediaConnect, creating a managed and observable contribution layer.
AWS Elemental MediaLive provides resilient live processing through a standard dual-pipeline configuration, while AWS Elemental MediaPackage handles secure channel origination, live input redundancy, DRM-enabled packaging, and protected origin access.
To support monetization, AWS Elemental MediaTailor was integrated for server-side ad insertion using the customer’s ad decisioning workflow. This enables consistent ad delivery across devices and helps improve monetization reliability compared with client-side ad insertion models.
Amazon CloudFront provides scalable distribution to viewers, with AWS WAF adding edge-level protection against malicious traffic.
The architecture also supports live archiving and non-linear fulfillment. Live outputs can be archived to Amazon S3, while VOD assets are processed and prepared for digital delivery using AWS media services and scalable storage patterns. This gives the broadcaster a repeatable foundation for live-to-VOD workflows, audience growth, future channel expansion, and operationally controlled broadcast delivery.
Business outcomes
The solution helped the broadcaster improve the reliability and scalability of its digital broadcast platform while reducing dependency on legacy infrastructure. It created a stronger operational foundation for live streaming, digital monetization, protected media delivery, and on-demand content publishing.
